Use GS 100 corners to flash recesed windows with a slope to the lower framing.
The GS 100 Flashing System is known as Corner Flash™
This product line assists builders in flashing recessed (inset) window systems.
Recessed windows are difficult to flash properly due to their location in the wall system.
A three dimensional flashing process is required. "Origami" (the Japanese art of folding paper)
is not a reasonable expectation or a good idea for a construction detail.
Yet, unless Corner Flash™ is used, window flashing in recessed walls will be accomplished by folding flashing products.
Some trades people can do this folding process properly; most cannot. At best, it is extremely difficult and time consuming.
Corner Flash™ solves these problems.
When properly installed, the Corner Flash™ products will speed up production and provide a quality flashing method that will not leak.
Corner Flash™ is a two piece system consisting of an "A" piece and a "B" piece. The "A" piece is the outside corner and the "B" piece
is the inside corner. These pieces are properly placed with sealant at each corner.
All four corners should be addressed meaning eight pieces are necessary: four "A" pieces and four "B" pieces.
These pieces work together to reinforce the most difficult areas to flash.
These areas are also the most common areas to leak. Reinforcing these areas is critical to quality.
Even if the area is properly flashed, it can get damaged by another trades person.
Corner Flash™ assists is preventing this subsequent damage by reinforcing these areas.
Corner Flash™ is easy to use. Anyone who can flash a window and use a sealant gun can now flash recessed windows.
